Somewhere close to my home in the UK is a place that has been drawing me in over recent years. Its a place that is surreal and unearthly, that feels nothing like the safe countryside that lies around it. This place has held people's ideas, been home to mysteries and has healed others. Both barren and beautiful, its a place that you make a conscious choice to visit (as other photographers and artists have done). This place is at the end of the road, you only pass by if you are on the sea, by road there is nowhere else to go. This is my exploration of that place, from its sparse dwellings, objects, landscape and flotsam; in time I may add people into the mix. Using both pinhole and lens-based techniques, I suspect that this project will change and evolve much as the place itself.
